My Story

My name is Tori. I am not a therapist, just someone who has been through a lot. Writing has been key in transforming my experiences, and I want to share it with others.

I’m here for people who have had a moment of “I cant fucking live like this anymore.” People in recovery from addiction or mental health struggles or a life that just didn’t fit anymore. People who want to understand themselves better. People who have stories that need to get out. People with stories that were dismissed, not witnessed, or never fully shared. If you’ve ever been told “your version of the truth may be different” this is for you.

I offer support through the entire process of creating a book, from the first journal entry all the way to a finished, printed book. You don’t need anything more than the desire to tell your story. I’ll meet you where you’re at.

This work is not a substitute for therapy. I’m a peer, a maker, and a guide. I am not a clinician. Many clients do this work alongside therapy, and I’m happy to collaborate with that process.

In November 2024, I underwent ketamine assisted psychotherapy to treat ongoing cPTSD symptoms that had caused a breakdown.

The therapy sessions were intense, and I found that I didn’t have the words to adequately describe or make sense of the experiences. Comics and sequential arts turned out to be an incredible medium for telling the story visually with some additional words. As a result, I wrote, illustrated, and printed a graphic novel.

The project served as a crucial piece of integration while working through some deep trauma. It allowed me to create meaning from the things that happened to me. In the process, I shifted from being a victim to a survivor. This process of owning my story and choosing how to tell it is a form of transformation that I call “narrative alchemy.”

This is why I built Cosmic Cairns, because I believe the act of creation can do the same for you. Transmute the poison, or at least drain it off.
